The Durham Children's Watershed Festival will be hosting a Public Open house on Tuesday September 25th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Camp Samac, 275 Conlin Road East, Oshawa.   The Durham Children's Watershed Festival is a giant outdoor science centre consisting of 37 interactive learning stations, all focused on water.  Parking is available by the pool area.

The Public Open House is a chance for the community to learn a little more about the blue stuff we depend on every day, and how they can help us conserve and protect local water resources.  “We will have a selection of activities from the Festival along with some special guests,” says Yvonne Storm, the Festival Coordinator.

The evening provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with many of our regular activity centres, plus:
- play in the state of the art Augmented Reality sandbox
- see a plow/salt truck close up
- wildlife from Soper Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation
- Reptilia Zoo
- GM electric car
- Durham Region Works Display
- TRACKS Youth Program G'Chi-Nibi - Sacred Water Program
- Highway of Heroes LIving Tribute
- Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust

Staff from Central Lake Ontario Conservation will also provide guided tours to see the salmon spawning in the Oshawa Creek.

Scout, Guide and other youth groups are also welcome to attend and or volunteer.
- Large Group Online Registration
- Online Volunteer Registration

Over the past twenty years, the Festival has educated more than 77,000 local grade four and high school students, teachers and parent volunteers about water, giving them the tools to conserve and protect this valuable natural resource.
